On April 3, 2025, Shopify implemented functionality that automatically set limits for how many of each product can be added to a cart in your store. For more information, see Shopify article here.
Because each 1 cent of donation via Round Up and custom entry on Donation Tiers counts as 1 product, this has affected some stores such that Round Up and custom Donation Tiers donations are automatically limited based on the limit Shopify automatically imposed. For instance, if your store averages less than 250 inventory on its products, Shopify automatically imposed an inventory limit of 50 per product. So if a customer attempts to Round Up to donate $1.00, Shopify will automatically decrease this 50 cents.
To remove this limit, please complete the following steps:
- Open your store Admin in Shopify.
- Open "Settings."
- Open "Checkout."
- Scroll down and click on "Add-to-cart limit" under the "Advanced preferences" section.
- Click the toggle to switch Add-to-cart-limit OFF.
- Click Save at the top of the screen to save your changed settings.
