What are the steps I need to take to set up my first Donate for Gift campaign?

Preliminary Steps

To set up your first Donate for Gift cause marketing campaign, make sure you've taken the following steps:

  • Select at least 1 approved charity to support (the charity must not be in review; if your charity request is in review, you won't be able to go live with your campaign until we approve it.)
  • Add your credit card
  • Save these changes

Customize your gift & donation request

Now it's time to set your customer gift and donation request. We recommend offering an incentive that is an exclusive and of higher value than the requested donation amount. See the example below:

Customize the look & feel of the widget (colors, alignment, and text)

Customize the look and feel of your customer-facing widget as well as what you want the widget to say (consider naming your chosen charities, e.g., “$5 of your purchase will be donated to the Environmental Defense Fund and Oceana. No cost to you.”)

You can preview your plugin within the dashboard as well.

Placement

Select whether you want the widget to appear automatically on all product pages. You can also place it manually by clicking on Manual Mode. Make sure to Connect the placement from this section as well.

You can also choose to place it in the cart instead (or in addition to displaying it on the product pages). For this, scroll down to Manual Placement Instructions.
